Le Festival d’Automne à Paris consacre cette année une part importante de sa programmation aux artistes venus d’Afrique du Sud, à l’occasion des saisons croisées initiées par l’Afrique du Sud et la France.

Les soirées présentées aux Bouffes du Nord proposent un étonnant voyage dans la culture sud-africaine où se mêlent tradition et modernité, des chorales zouloues du Kwazulu-Natal (avec le choeur masculin des White Birds et celui des femmes du village de Ngono pour la première fois présent sur une scène européenne), à la musique du jeune jazzman Kyle Shepherd, explorant l’esprit de sa ville, Le Cap, en passant par la chorégraphe Nelisiwe Xaba qui interroge la subversion d’un héritage culturel, La Danse du roseau célébrant la préservation de la virginité des jeunes femmes.
