Cette étrangeté musicale aurait pu naître des cendres des sorcières de Salem, mais AUSTRA est en fait un projet canadien de Toronto issue de la fertile imagination de Katie Stelmanis.

Juchée sur son balais une nuit de pleine lune AUSTRA concocte une pop DIY au nez crochu, la voix haut perchée vers les clochers un soir d’hiver, drapée de nappes synthétiques pouvant rappeler The Knife ou un opéra fantasque. Austra a su convaincre aussi sur scène : du Festival Les Femmes s’en Mêlent à Rock en Seine, accompagnée de deux choristes , Katie a déployé ses ailes et envouté son public. Un an pile après leur dernier concert à Paris , le groupe revient en Europe pour défendre son nouvel album sur la scène du Nouveau Casino.
